Ingredients

1 lb. ground beef

2 lb. ground turkey

28 ounce can of crushed tomatoes

6 ounce can of tomato paste

2 cloves crushed garlic

1 finely chopped red pepper

2 finely chopped jalopena peppers (without seeds to reduce kick if desired)

2/3 cup of beef broth

1/3 cup of dry red wine

2 teaspoons of cumin

1/4 large onion finely chopped

10 ounces of cannellini red kidney beans-rinsed

1/4 cup barbeque sauce

1 cup of beer

4 tea spoons of ground sea salt

2 teaspoons of pepper

1/2 cup low fat crumpled feta cheese

4 ounces of red pepper bread spreand or 1 small red pepper blended in processor with splash of olive oil and splash of balsalmic vinegar

6 basil leaves finely chopped

Preparation

In well oiled large skillet under high heat, stir fry beef and turkey. Drain oil/fat. combine meat with all other ingredients into large slow cooker. Gently mix. Cook for two hours on high…two more hours on low.

When serving, garnish bowls with dollup of reduced fat sour cream.
