Ingredients
8 oz unsalted butter
18.5 oz granulated sugar
4 oz cocoa powder
4 large eggs
4 oz all-purpose flour
.25 oz baking powder
.25 oz baking soda
.25 oz salt
Preparation
- Add eggs to mixture one at a time, scraping bowl after each addition. Add flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt to mixture and continue to cream. Slowly add water to mixture, then scrape bottom of bowl to ensure all ingredients are completely blended.
- Butter 2 half-sheetpans; line with parchment paper and butter parchment paper. Spread cake batter on pans and bake at 325 degrees F for 10-15 minutes. Remove cakes from oven and place a sheet of parchment paper on top of each cake. Place a half-sheetpan on top of each cake and press to flatten. Chill.
