Ingredients

1 quart whole milk

12 oz Sugar

1 Vanilla Bean

1/2 tsp Baking Soda

Preparation

  1. Heat milk and sugar in large stew pot

  2. French the Vanilla Bean and remove seads

  3. When the sugar is disolved wait until the milk starts to boil then reduce heat to maintain a slow simmer

  4. Add the baking soda and Vanilla Bean

  5. After an hour remove the Vanilla Bean

  6. Continue to reduce down to 1 cup (About 3 hours total)
