Ingredients

3 cups flour

1-teaspoon salt

1-teaspoon ground cinnamon

2 cups sugar

1-cup oil

¼ teaspoon fresh grated nutmeg

4 eggs

Zest of 1, medium orange

3 teaspoons of baking powder

½ cup of orange juice (minimum)

Apple Mixture

2 tablespoons brown sugar

½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

¼ teaspoon fresh grated nutmeg

¼ teaspoon ground ginger

1 large apple (a min of 12oz.) peeled, cored & sliced fairly thin

¼ cup water

Preparation

Mix the first ten ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Mix well. Batter will be a bit thick.

Combine the next six (Apple Mixture) ingredients in another mixing bowl.

Preheat oven at 350 degrees. Pour ½ the batter in a 9-cup bundt pan. Place the apple mixture on top. Pour remaining batter over the apple mixture. Bake for approximately 1-½ hours. The cake will be very moist.
