Ingredients
2 cups Flour
3 tsp Baking Power
1 tsp Salt
2 tbsp Minced Parsley
4 tbsp Shortening (Crisco)
3/4 - 1 cup Milk
Preparation
Mix flour, baking powder, salt, and parsley
With fork or pastry blender, cut in crisco until even crumbly texture
Stir in 3/4 cup milk until it holds together, add more milk as needed. Do not over stir.
Drop spoonfuls of dough on surface of simmering stew or soup
Cover the pot, let simmer for about 20 minutes
** Dumplings absorb liquid, make stew more “soupy” before adding dumplings **
