Ingredients

1 cup butter or margarine

2 cups granulated sugar

2 tsp. vanilla

4 eggs

3/4 cup cocoa (must be Dutch-process type)

1 cup flour

1/2 tsp. baking powder

1/4 tsp. salt

1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Preparation

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 9 x 13 x 2 pan

In large microwave-safe bowl, melt butter (microwave on high about 1.5 minutes). Stir in sugar and vanilla. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add cocoa; mix well. Add flour, baking powder, and salt; mix well. Stir in nuts.

Pour into prepared pan. Bake 30-35 minutes. Cut into bars when cool.
