Ingredients
Filling:
4-6 Apples chopped, peel if desired
1 dash each of Cinnamon and Nutmeg
Topping:
1 tsp ground Cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground Nutmeg
1/2 C Walnut pieces
1/2 C Almond meal
1/2 C Rolled oats
2 T Flaxseed meal
1/4 tsp Stevia (or 1/4 C coconut or brown sugar)
1/4 C Honey
2 T Butter, melted (optional)

Preparation
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Filling: Place apples to fill a 9" pie plate and sprinkle on dash of cinnamon and nutmeg. Cover and bake 20 minutes.
Topping: In a medium size bowl combine all topping ingredients and stir to combine. For a finer textured topping, use a food processor to combine ingredients and pulse until mixture resembles coarse meal.
Sprinkle topping over apples.
Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
For Peach crisp: Stir in 2 T Whole wheat flour to the filling, and don’t pre-bake the filling for 20 minutes like you do for the apple crisp.
(Optional) Add 1/2 C Blueberries, fresh or frozen to the peach filling for pizzazz.
