Ingredients

Topping

1/2 stick butter

1/2 cup sugar

1 cup flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup peach juice from can

1/2 teaspoon almond extract

Filling

1 stick butter

1/3 cup sugar

2 tablespoons flour

1/2 cup applejack, brandy, fruit juice or water

1 28 oz can lite sliced peaches drained and juices reserved

1/2 teaspoon almond extract, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/8 teaspoon fresh grated nutmeg

Preparation

Filling melt butter and add flour, sugar and salt. mix well then add peaches and liquid. add extracts and heat through.

Topping

In a mixing bowl on low speed cream the sugar and butter. then add remaining ingredients and mix for about a minute. The batter should be about as thick as cake batter, add a little bit of milk or liquid if needed to thin it out

Assembly Pour filling into 9 x 9 greased baking pan and place batter over the filling. Bake at 350 approx 1 hour until golden brown.
