Ingredients

4 egg yolks - beaten

2 1/4 cups milk

1/3 cups sugar

1 cup whipping cream

1 teaspoon vanilla

Ground nutmeg

Preparation

In a large heavy saucepan mix the egg yolks, mild, and sugar. Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture just coats a metal spoon. Remove from heat. Place the pan in a bowl of ice water and stir for 2 minutes. Stir in whipping cream and vanilla. Cover and chill for 4 to 24 hours. Serve with nutmeg.
