Ingredients

2 tablespoons salt

1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

2 lbs flap steak

2 limes, quartered

2 avocados, peeled and thinly sliced

Cooked black beans (optional)

1 cup Qaxacan chili pastilla sauce (optional)

12 small tortillas

Preparation

Prepare a charcoal or gas grill

  • In a small bowl, combine the salt, black pepper and garlic powder.
  • When grill is very hot, place the meat on the grill, fat side down.
  • Sprinkle half the salt mixture over the meat and cook until nicely browned, 6 to 9 minutes.
  • Flip and sprinkle the remaining salt mixture over the meat and cook for another 6 to 9 minutes.
  • Let rest for a few minutes, then thinly slice against the grain and serve with a lime wedge, avocado slices, black beans and sauce.
