Ingredients
1 cup Bisquick mix
1 cup flour
1 egg
1 teaspoon salt
pinch of baking powder
About an inch of vegetable oil in a heavy fry pan for frying the dough strips.
Good corn syrup for dipping the rolkuchen in
and, last but not an option, slices of watermelon!!
Preparation
Mix together the Bisquick, flour, egg, salt and baking powder, squeezing the dough till its a sticky glump!! Heavily flour the table, turn the dough onto it and kneed the flour in, roll out to 1/2" thick. Cut into two inch strips by about 6" long, then cut a long slit in to the 6" long strip, pull one end through the slit, making a ‘bowtie’. Fry in hot oil just till golden, drain. Serve stacked in a large bowl, eat while still hot!!
