Ingredients

1 stick margarine

1/2 cup shortening

2 cups sugar

4 eggs

3 cups flour

1/2 tsp. soda powder

1 tsp. baking powder

1 cup buttermilk

1 tsp. vanilla

1 tsp. lemon juice

Preparation

Mix in a mixer:

  1. Margarine and shortening.

  2. Add sugar and eggs.

In separate bowls:

  1. Mix flour, baking soda and baking powder, and

  2. Buttermilk, vanilla, and lemon

  3. Add these mixtures alternately in the mixer.

  4. Beat for 10 minutes after mixing.

  5. Bake in a greased and floured Bundt pan for 1 hour at 350 degrees.

  6. Let cool for 10 minutes before removing.
