Ingredients
Can be doubled or tripled
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup freshly grated romano or parmesan cheese (about 2 ounces)
2 teaspoons prepared pesto sauce
1/2 1-pound French bread loaf
Preparation
Preheat broiler
Combine first 3 ingredients in small bowl (can be prepared 1 day ahead, cover tightly and refrigerate)
Halve bread lenghtwise. Broil cut side up until beginning to brown. Spread each half generously with mayonnaise mixture. Broil until bubbling and beginning to brown, watching carefully. Cut crosswise into 1 1/2 inch pieces and serve
