Dip Smoky Cheese Onion Bacon Spinach Dip Recipe
Ingredients -4 slices thick bacon, chopped -1 C sweet onion, chopped -1-10 oz pkg of frozen chopped spinach (thawed, squeezed dry) -1/2 C heavy cream -1/4 t nutmeg -1 3/4 C (7 oz) Extra Sharp Cheddar Cheese Preparation Cook bacon in a skillet until crisp Transfer bacon to a paper towel, keeping 1 T of drippings in pan Add onions and sauté in bacon drippings (about 5 minutes) Add spinach, sauté 2 minutes Stir in cream and nutmeg, remove from heat Stir in cheese and reserved bacon Spread mixture into a 9-inch pie plate Bake at 375 for 20 minutes Serve warm with pita or tortilla chips
